As Artistic Director for Aveda’s newest advanced educational facility in New York, Jon Reyman works on a daily basis to educate hairdressers to be the best and to set trends that translate worldwide. Jon has traveled the globe with Aveda. He was drawn to the industry by the fact that he gets to make people feel good—while also making a lot of money. He enjoys living in New York because it helps him in his quest to consume as little as the Earth’s resources as possible. Jon’s advice to the newcomer is that this industry requires perseverance, intelligence and everything we have...but in the end it’s all worth it. Spoken like a true hairdresser, Jon’s favorite hairstyle is “...the last one I cut...!”

Since then, David has gone on to create the immensely successful line of ‘Juut’ Salons, but, more importantly, to inspire his more than 400 employees in the pursuit of transforming the world with beauty. Reminding us all that as hairdressers, we are in the enviable position of being able to “...give our guests pleasure in a world that is short on the opportunity of receiving heart-centered service,” David sees every guest as a celebrity. He is passionate about preserving our environment, but David also strives to remind us all of the importance of the preservation of human nature.

While still in school, Shaun was chosen to help backstage at Aveda’s Offspring Miami Jam show where he assisted hairdressing master Ruth Roche. A graduate of the St. Petersburg Masters Program, Shaun is continuing to do great hair in the salon world.

He visited a number of schools before he finally walked through the door at Aveda and realized that “nothing else compared.” Josh is on to a great start in his career. He, along with two other team members from the Aveda Institute St. Petersburg, won the first ever Edwin Neill Full Potential Award—a competition among students across the nation to create an overall beauty look using cut, color and makeup. Josh is excited to be part of an industry that transforms people beyond their physical appearance. As a graduate of the Masters Program, he looks forward to doing more great things with Aveda.
America’s Next Top Model Star
JANET MILLS
Freelance Makeup Artist, Model
After graduating from the esthiology program at the Aveda Institute St. Petersburg, Janet enjoyed a stint as one of the final ten on the hit show “America’s Next Top Model.” Even after being a part of the global world of high-fashion, it is the quiet, calming atmosphere of esthiology that keeps Janet passionate about her career in skincare. Janet’s time in the spotlight gave her the knowledge and confidence she needed to realize that she had a place in the industry; but Janet, who takes advanced education classes wherever she can to further her knowledge, credits Aveda with teaching her how important her role is within that industry, and how easy it can be to achieve your goals with quality education and true passion.
