TIPPI SHORTER
“The Aveda community is a very supportive, grounded network. I love that even though Aveda is a beauty brand, the mission is about more than hair, it’s about health and heart. I’m very excited to be a part of a company that thinks beyond styling hair,” says Tippi Shorter, Aveda Global Artistic Director, Textured Hair.
Tippie Shorter found her calling for hairstyling in her hometown of Long Beach, California. However, she had dreams of bringing her skills and the Hollywood glamour she knew so well to the urban metropolis. In 1995 she headed to New York City with the intent of getting people hooked on her signature big sexy healthy hair. Tippi began her professional career with Aveda in her first official stylist position at an Aveda Concept Salon in New York City. “I understood then Aveda’s dedication to education and customer service, and that never left me within my professional career. So it only makes sense that I have come full circle and will help relay that message to the next generation,” says Shorter.
